How I turned design moodboard into a shoppable platform for clients and interior designers.
THE BACKGROUND
MINE provides Furniture and Home Furnishings Manufacturing. Studio MINE is a holistic website tool made for interior designers to work for clients who need to furnish their homes.
MINE has been experiencing remarkable growth with the number of interior design agencies and designers who use Studio MINE. Those designers rely on Studio MINE as a one-stop tool to offer their services. We have to catch up with the growing demands of those external interior designers.
THE problem
Problem for external designers:
" I signed up for Studio MINE. It's a great tool to design rooms, but how can I let my clients know more about my design works, and hopefully I want to buy products directly for them."
External designers’ frustrations
Cannot share and show off past designs to clients.
No UI to buy products for clients. Have to place an order to MINE each time.
No place to introduce their companies within MINE platform.
Clients’ frustrations
Cannot quickly add products to buy while reviewing room design.
Cannot refer to other design moodboards to decide which products to buy.
Cannot learn quickly about the designer and the company.
User Goal
Share “shoppable rooms” with clients, so that they can choose and sell products based on projects.
Buy products for clients using their credit card. This can eliminate their redundant process of submitting wired orders to MINE.
Show off company profiles and rooms they designed in Studio MINE, whenever and to whoever they want.
Also the growth of external interior designers is a huge opportunity for MINE.
Business Goal
We have more than 400 agencies who use Studio MINE. It has become more crucial than ever to make Studio MINE “sellable” to external interior designers.
Our CEO refers to Studio MINE as “the world’s #1 platform for profitable interior designers”. It has to be equipped with all main features those designers will need.
To meet those goals, we decided to build the two features for external designers:
Shoppable Rooms that enables clients to add products to their cart while reviewing the design of each room. Designer Checkout for interior designers to buy products for clients using their credit cards.

THE OUTCOMES
Social impact of Shoppable UI feature
“This shoppable design can be broadcast on the social channels and website of the designer. It turns the moodboard into a shoppable e-commerce experience. Designers using Studio MINE can also build a profile that showcases numerous shoppable ‘designs’. Once live on site, all of the designs can be shared and shopped anywhere on the web. Designers using Studio Mine have the option to turn their projects into physical showrooms and add them to the network that already exists. These physical spaces could be in model homes, short-term rentals, restaurants or hotels. In the near future, thousands of designers will be adding tens of thousands of new shoppable spaces every year.”

From an influencer who is using Studio Mine for shoppable designs
“Training session today went well. My assistant understood the platform quickly and said it is WAY better than using LTK (you have to use the app, canva and the website to create a design, once it's designed things may be out of stock then the process starts again, it is very tedious), that the Perigold partnership isn't as interactive (no moodboard options) and that Amazon is not high end enough for our audience. She thinks this will be the perfect solution.“
*As of April 2025, the designer checkout feature has just been released, and we're expecting feedback from interior designers.
