I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan.
Being small (How small? That's a top secret) I’ve always been with big passions by nature. The world is huge, and learning about different cultures always got me going. This passion was the reason I took the plunge to come and live in the US.
WHAT I USED TO DO
I spent 12 years testing digital products, working closely with designers, engineers, and PMs. I wasn’t just looking for bugs — I focused on understanding how people use things, where they get stuck, and how to spot issues before users even notice them. This hands-on experience helped me develop a strong sense of what makes products work well for users, which naturally led me to UX design.
WHAT I DO
I design flows, interfaces, and systems that feel intuitive — even when the product is complex. My QA brain helps me ask “what if” questions early, and my UX heart helps me put people first in every decision.
WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR
I’m looking for a dynamic team where I can leverage my 18 years of experience in releasing digital products. I thrive in diverse environments and seek opportunities where I can collaborate with talented peers, contribute to the team’s growth, and continue to evolve in my career.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does design matter to me?
Design resonates with me because of its power to transform everyday experiences. I believe, as Ludwig Mies van der Rohe said, “God is in the details.” It's in those subtle, thoughtful touches that a design tells a story and connects with users. For me, design isn't just about aesthetics; it's about creating meaningful, user-centered solutions that enhance lives and make the world a bit better.
What’s my journey into UX design?
Like many people, the pandemic made me take a step back and rethink my career. After 12 years in QA, I decided to pursue something I was truly passionate about — UX design. What I love about UX is how it allows me to apply my QA experience in a new way. I’m able to spot issues early and design solutions that make things easier and more user-friendly. This is what makes me 100% a 'user-centered' designer.
What’s the value of working with me?
My global footprint: Born in the East and now living in the West, I’ve always embraced adaptability as my guiding principle. From day one in the U.S., I’ve learned that what works in one place may not work in another. My diverse cultural experiences have not only broadened my perspective but have also helped me build deep empathy for people from different backgrounds. This ability to understand varying needs and navigate different contexts is what I bring to the table — helping create designs that resonate globally and locally.
What’s my design approach?
Collaboration: As a former QA engineer, I understand that design is just one part of the larger product lifecycle. Successful deployment requires strong collaboration with all team members. I make it a point to set up frequent checkpoints and maintain open communication with stakeholders, ensuring everyone stays aligned throughout the process.
“Simple design with great details”: I’m passionate about creating simple, intuitive designs while considering all the possible scenarios users may encounter. My QA background honed my ability to focus on how customers interact with products, allowing me to balance simplicity with a keen attention to detail in my designs.
